Breathwork for Trauma & Emotional Release
We are always looking for holistic ways to help people begin to process their grief. As well as running a monthly support group, we also run quarterly breathwork groups with breathwork coach, Charlie Polizzi. We hope this interview with Charlie gives you an idea of what breathwork is, and how it could help you.
Preserving Flowers From A Funeral
Many people choose to preserve their wedding flowers, but increasingly we are being asked how to preserve funeral flowers. So much time, effort, and money is often spent on funeral flowers, so it makes sense that you would want to preserve a memory of them rather than leave them at the crematorium where they will eventually be disposed of. So in this article we will explore ways you can preserve funeral flowers for years afterwards.
How We Look After People Who Have Died
It is a huge responsibility and privilege to care for people who have died, and it is not something that we take lightly at Exit Here. Everyone in our care is treated with dignity and respect, and as if they were our own friend or family member.
How To Carry A Coffin
Are you nervous about carrying a coffin? Most people are, even if they have done it before. It’s a big honour and a big responsibility, so you may feel some pressure to do it correctly on the day and it’s natural to be nervous. It can also be a very emotional experience to physically feel the weight of someone you knew and loved on your shoulders. At Exit Here we always support and encourage people to carry the coffin if they wish. Your funeral director will explain to you how to carry a coffin on the day, but if you want to be well prepared, here are the 5 main steps.
What Is Direct Cremation?
A direct cremation in the UK is where the person who has died is taken directly to the crematorium from the funeral directors’ premises, with no attendees and no funeral service or ceremony. It is the most minimal and least expensive option for families, and with the least amount of choice - most direct cremation providers do not allow you to choose the date, time, or location of the cremation. Arrangements can all be done over the phone and email, and the ashes are returned to you at a later date.
Funeral Live Streaming Services
Funeral live streaming (also known as a webcast) is an online platform where you can attend the funeral service virtually from anywhere as long as you have a device with internet access. Since the covid pandemic, funeral live steaming has gone from a niche service to a wide-spread and easily accessible option.
The Difference Between a Coffin and a Casket
One of the questions we are most commonly asked is ‘what is the difference between a coffin and a casket’ and ‘are they just the same thing?’ Although the purpose of both are the same - to hold the body of the person who has died - there is a difference.
Mortlake Crematorium: Arranging A Cremation
Although you do not have to use the closest crematorium to where you live (or to where your funeral director is based), many of the families we work with in Chiswick and West London choose Mortlake Crematorium.
Organising a Hindu Funeral in London
The Exit Here team has carried out many Hindu funerals all over London and the UK, and we always feel privileged when asked to do so. Whether your family requires a ceremony that includes all Hindu funeral traditions, or a multi-faith and modern interpretation, we can help you create a beautiful and respectful day.
How to Have an Affordable Funeral in London
With the rising cost of living, many people are concerned about the affordability of funerals in 2023 - especially in London which has the highest average funeral cost in the UK. However, an expensive funeral doesn’t necessarily mean a better funeral - we can help you create a beautiful, dignified, and personalised ceremony regardless of your budget.
Natural Burial in London
Natural burials (also known as eco funerals or green burials) take place in a woodland, meadow, or nature reserve rather than a traditional cemetery. They are beautiful, peaceful places, all with a unique character and setting.
