Cemeteries and crematoria serving the Hampstead area

Although we’re funeral directors in Hampstead, we organise funerals across all the London boroughs and further afield too. In fact, anyone can be cremated or buried in any cemetery or crematorium in the country.

But if the person who has died lives in the Hampstead area, most families who are arranging the funeral will usually choose somewhere local. And that’s because there will probably be ties to the area, or a family member is already buried or interned there, and there’s often the benefit of reduced rates for local Camden residents.

Cemeteries and crematoria for Hampstead include:

Highgate Cemetery
Located in the London Borough of Camden, Highgate is one of London’s most famous cemeteries and part of the ‘magnificent seven’. It’s now owned and managed by the Friends of Highgate Cemetery Trust. Opened in 1839 and designed by architect Stephen Geary, the whole site is designated Grade l on the register of historic parks and gardens. Split into two areas, East and West, either side of Swain’s Lane, the cemetery is well known for its Gothic tombs, elaborate vaults and catacombs. Highgate cemetery burials still take place on both sides of the cemetery, although plots are limited.
