Cemeteries and crematoria serving Notting Hill
Although we’re funeral directors in Notting Hill, we work with cemeteries and crematoria across the UK. You are free to choose any location for a burial or cremation, although the rates will vary for non residents.
But usually, when somebody dies in the Notting Hill area, families choose a local cemetery or crematorium for the funeral. This may be because someone has ties to the area or they want to be buried in a family plot. And, of course, local Notting Hill residents benefit from the special residents’ rates offered.
The cemeteries and crematoria serving the Notting Hill area include:
Brompton Cemetery
Brompton Cemetery was consecrated by the Bishop of London in June 1840 and is one of Britain's oldest garden cemeteries. Located in West Brompton in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, it’s managed by the Royal Parks and is Britain's only Crown Cemetery.
The cemetery features two sweeping colonnades and a spectacular chapel made from honey coloured Bath stone that seats up to 100. The chapel, colonnades and Brompton Road gate are all Grade II* Listed.
Burial plots are available and there is also a garden of remembrance for cremated remains as well as a columbarium for urns.
